Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi will host the second Te Pūtake o te Riri Summit on Monday, March 11, and Tuesday, March 12, at its campus in Whakatāne.  The summit is supported through the Te Pūtake o te Riri fund administered by Te Puni Kōkiri.

Nursing students training at indigenous tertiary institution Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi will use hologram patients to practise critical assessment and care, and virtual humans to study anatomy and physiology.

Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi graduate Aroha Ruha-Hiraka has been named this year's joint winner of the national Young Nurse of the Year Award.
