2026 Scholarship Application Guidelines
The following conditions will apply to Te Whare Wānanga Scholarships including the Awanuiārangi, Masters Thesis, Doctoral, ASB and Te Matatini scholarships. For all other scholarships please refer to their individual guidelines:
- Scholarships are only available to applicants who are enrolled as a tauira at Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi for 2026.
- Scholarship funds must be taken up in the year it was applied for. Scholarship funds or any part of the funds granted, cannot be carried over or paid out in any following years.
- Scholarship funds can only be used for the purpose in which it was granted for and will be allocated accordingly.
- If a scholarship is declined by a recipient, or if a recipient has not confirmed enrolment by Friday 20 March 2026, then Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi may offer the scholarship to another applicant.
- Tauira who withdraw from the designated programme with academic results (after 10% of the programme has been completed), or puts the organisation at risk or disrepute, must repay this scholarship to Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi.
- Inaccurate and incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Late applications will not be accepted unless a new date or time has been officially advertised by the Academic Registrar
- TeachNZ scholarship recipients are not eligible for scholarships offered by Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, if you are granted a TeachNZ scholarship and issued a scholarship from Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, you must repay this scholarship to Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi.
- All scholarship applications must be completed online by 4.30 pm, on Friday 20th March 2026
