The tertiary sector consists of a number of different tertiary educational institutions (“TEI”s) providing higher education or vocational training opportunities.  TEIs range from public institutes such as universities, polytechnics and wānanga to private or industry training providers. Participants in the tertiary sector include TEIs, their teaching staff and students.
