COVID-19 Alert Level update

Tēnā koutou

Today the Government has made the following announcements in relation to the COVID-19 response efforts.

  • Auckland stays in Alert Level 3 for at least another two weeks and Auckland schools will remained closed. Tāmaki Campus will also remain closed.
  • Waikato Alert Level 3 restrictions have been extended until at least Friday 22 October and will be reviewed at that time.
  • Northland will move to Alert Level 2 as at 11.59pm on Tuesday 19 October.
  • The rest of New Zealand remains at Alert Level 2.

More information will be shared in due course in relation to any mandated vaccination requirements for tertiary staff, currently these mandates only apply to primary and secondary education staff.

More information will also be shared directly with our tauira in the healthcare and education programmes once timeframes and requirements around vaccinations for students on placement have been clarified.

All information in relation to campuses and Alert Level requirements can be found on the website here.

We were heartened to see a great response to the Super Saturday vaccination drive across the rohe.  Whānau, this is a long and winding road away from the confines of COVID and it is frustrating, but we must stay the course.

As always, we are here to support you and please do not hesitate to reach out to one of our kaimahi if you have any pātai or would like to kōrero.
