Ngāti Awa te Toki 2024
Ngāti Awa Te Toki is celebrating its tenth anniversary this weekend, supported once again by Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi. The event will feature performances from 30 haka teams representing hapū.
Te Kāeaea o Taiwhakaea - Whakatāne Rugby Park
Te Roopu Ahi Kaa o Ngāti Awa will again host the biannual ‘Ngāti Awa Te Toki’ festival with a weekend involving two days of kapa haka performances of tamariki and pakeke representing their various hapū celebrating 10 years since its inception.
The festival will result in an increased capacity in Ngāti Awatanga, in the unity of the iwi of Ngāti Awa, a further enforcement of Mataatua as an icon of the Whakatāne community.
