This programme uses a blended delivery mode with noho wānanga (face to face) supported by eWānanga (online learning platform) and an integrated work-based placement component.
The work-based placement component requires that tauira successfully complete 400 hours of work experience.
Kaiako-led and other planned learning activities contribute to the learning in noho wānanga, online and face to face and those undertaken in self-directed learning time by tauira.
Total hours = 1,200 hours
The achievement-based assessment mode for this programme will incorporate written, journal presentation, case studies, report, portfolio, leadership project, reflection, observation, and posters. Theory and evidence-based practise support the work-based placement components which are competency based.

- Participating in ‘intensive’ learning sessions that require them to be away from home the least amount of time possible.
- Engaging in a cultural and nursing mentorship within their community.
- Practise experience within their local area when possible.
