Awanuiarangi Scholarships

Available: Limited to 10 Applicants



Valued at full fees for 2019. This scholarship will be credited towards paying the full fees of the successful applicant’s programme of study and credited directly into their fees account.


Closing Date: 28 February 2019 by 4:30pm


Purpose of Award

The purpose of this award is to support undergraduate tauira who enrol fulltime in a degree programme at Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi.



Applicants for the scholarship must be;

  • enrolled full-time in any degree at Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi; AND
  • a New Zealand citizen; OR a New Zealand permanent resident currently living in New Zealand



Recipients will be selected on the following criteria:

  • Enrolment in any full-time degree programme at Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi by 28 February 2019.
  • an explanation of how their degree will benefit iwi, hapū, marae and the wider community.

Based on Academic merit – GPA or equivalent. Completed the scholarship form correctly and attached relevant supporting documentation.

Supporting Documentation

Supporting documentation must include:

  • Enrolment Confirmation Letter
  • Authorised academic transcripts or records of learning
  • Where the scholarship is awarded on factors other than academic merit (community involvement, sporting achievement) please documentation supporting these achievements in these areas, i.e. certificates, testimonials and anything else that may be of interest to the Scholarships Committee must be included.
