Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi is a vibrant and exciting tertiary education institution which offers a range of programmes from certificates to doctorates across a range of disciplines.

 

We are looking for a vibrant, approachable, and friendly front-line Receptionist/Administrator to job share the receptionist functions as well as supporting the enrolment and programme administration requirements at our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) site.  This is a fixed-term position (6 months) while the permanent incumbent is on parental leave.

 

The Reception/office opening hours are from (8.30am – 5pm).  As this is a job-shared position, this particular role commences each weekday from 12pm - 6.30pm during term time and 10:30am – 5:00pm during non-term periods. 

 

Your ability to meet and greet manuhiri (visitors), current and potential future students, in a manner that models the values of our organisation, and your ability to build effective working relationships with staff will be critical to your success in this role.  Flexibility is also essential, as this position is job share and at times you may be required to work additional hours to cover.

 

Ideally you will have:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate confidently with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • The ability to be assertive and take the initiative in a busy front-line role.
  • A level two Certificate in Business Administration, Computing, or IT qualification.
  • At least two years reception/administration work experience or previous experience in a customer service type role.
  • Intermediate level skills using the Microsoft Office suite and an understanding of database applications.
  • A good understanding of Tikanga Māori.
  • At least an intermediate level Te Reo Maori skills and/or have a willingness to improve Te Reo Māori skills beyond basic.
