Te Awa Tūāpapa

Programme Overview

Level of Study: 3 & 4

This one-year full-time programme is the next step for students who have already studied the Level 1 and 2 Certificate in Te Awa Reo, or an equivalent. The focus is on developing skills in te reo Māori at an intermediate level.

Classes are bi-lingual and designed for interactive learning. There are six courses of six weeks’ duration, each centred on a specific area of language use. Each six-week course of study is followed by a weekend noho tahi, allowing students time to consolidate learning and reflect upon the topic, and providing an opportunity to practise new skills in a kaupapa Māori setting.
