Te Aka ki te Wānanga: Introduction to Wānanga Study

This certificate programme introduces students to tertiary education. The programme comprehensively prepares students for study at degree level by developing the confidence, skills and knowledge needed for successful academic study. In a supportive adult environment, you will learn how to study effectively, undertake research, write reports and essays, and meet the requirements of studying at the next level. Taught within a kaupapa Māori framework, Te Aka ki te Wānanga is also designed to help students gain confidence within Te Ao Māori (the Māori world). The programme seeks to broaden students’ knowledge and understanding of their whānau, hapū and iwi connections and heritage, establishing a strong foundation from which to embark on the journey of higher learning.

Additional Qualifications: Applicants must show a willingness to learn and will be required to undertake an interview.

Description: Develops and enhances basic computer skills relevant and valuable in tertiary study.
