School of Undergraduate Studies

Our goal is to deliver high-quality degree and pre-degree programmes across our main sites. Our undergraduate programmes are unique in the way they use kaupapa Māori teaching methods. Unlike most other tertiary institutions, programmes are delivered in a combination of ways, including regular classes, online learning, residential wānanga and field-based work. This form of delivery provides flexibility for students within a kaupapa Māori framework, and allows more students from a wide range of backgrounds and situations to complete tertiary study.

Foundation courses and bridging programmes are an important focus of the School of Undergraduate Studies. These courses ensure that students have clear and robust pathways to Bachelor degrees, and that they are able to meet the high standards required.
