Programme Overview
Level of Study: 4
This marae-based programme is designed to revitalise te reo, kawa, āhuatanga
Māori and tikanga Māori. The certificate enables marae to bring together their
members from around the country to learn from the collective knowledge about
physical and spiritual wellbeing held by whānau, hapū and iwi. The course is
available throughout the year. A range of papers covers many topics that affect
our hapū and marae, including te reo, tikanga, Māori philosophy, waiata, mau
rākau, kāranga, whaikōrero and the arts. There is also a series of science
papers, ranging from kaitiakitanga to the health of the streams and mahinga kai.
