Tēnā koutou katoa, I te taha o tōku whaea, ko Ngāti Kahungunu me Tūwharetoa ngā iwi. I te taha o tōku matua, ko Te Whānau-ā-Apanui te iwi. Ko June (nee Hamilton) rāua ko Niao Tangira ōku mātua. Teaching Responsibilities:
Dr Hamilton-Pearce teaches on concepts of colonising, decolonising and indigenising ICT and media through undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- MAO 130 – Whare Wānanga Development (Semester 1, 2010) - This course looks at the critical history and development of the Whare Wānanga and its contribution to tertiary education in New Zealands society.
- MAO 417/IND 401 – Iwi Research: Theory and Practice (Semester 1 and Semester 2, 2010) - This course develops a proposal for the Masters of Māori Studies and the Masters of Indigenous Studies.
- RAU 203 Culture and the Media: A Critical Study (Semester 1, 2011) - This course investigates culture’s effects on media and media’s effects on culture. Through representation developments there is awareness of colonising, decolonising and indigenising media theories.
