Raggamuffin 2010

As first time attendees, Te Whare Wānanga O Awanuiārangi left a vibrant and positive impression at the 2010 Raggamuffin Concert held in Rororua at the International Stadium on Saturday (23 January). Our goal at Raggamuffin was to raise the profile of our institution and to market and promote our programmes. This was a great opportunity to inform concert goers about the new Humanities Degree and the many other quality programmes that we have on offer.

The concert attracted over 30,000 fans of of reggae, hip hop, soul and dub music provided by a star-studded line-up. The atmosphere and the build up to the bands was incredible. We enjoyed a consitent flow of people crowding the exhibition, more than 500 people entered our site.

Awanuiārangi staff comprising of Kahu Wana and Dezma Thrupp from Marketing, Tania Masters from Student Service Centre and Kingi Reihana representing our campus in Tāmaki Makaurau. We had free give aways and a grand prize of the opportunity to go into a draw to win a MP3 and $100 New World Voucher - the elated winner of the grand prize was Ariana Te Rangiita of Paraparaumu.

Site visitors were very impressed to hear about the quality of our offerings and the number of Māori PHd staff. We meet some wonderfull people who were keen to know more about the educational opportunities offered here at Te Whare Wānanga O Awanuiārangi.
