Developer/Application Support

Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi is a vibrant and exciting Māori tertiary education institution which offers a range of programmes from certificates to doctorates across a range of disciplines.
We are looking for an experienced Developer/Application Support person to join our busy IT Team.
This position oversees the quality, performance and delivery of the business systems used by the Wānanga through design and development of various databases and master files.
Experience working with database management systems and a sound background in testing, training and support is essential for the success of this role.
You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification with 3-5 years experience in second level application support. Knowledge of relevant programming or report writing language such as XML, HTML, HTML5, Java Script, AJAX, SOAP, TSQL, CSS, PHP/ASP.net is essential to ensure you hit the ground running.
While the technical attributes are necessary so are the abilities to build and maintain effective working relationships, demonstrated self-leadership and work in a team.

We are looking for two experienced administrators for these busy roles. As part of the administration team you will be assisting the academic disciplines by providing student and academic support as well as undertaking office administration duties.
There are two roles available. One supports the education programmes and the other Māori performing arts programmes. (The Academic Administrator for the Māori performing arts programmes may be expected to travel up to two days a week to Rotorua.)
Ideally you will have:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with ARTENA Student Database or similar systems.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint applications efficiently.
- Excellent data input skills and touch typing expertise.
- Knowledge and experience in tertiary administration. Excellent data input skills and touch typing expertise.
Administration experience in a tertiary institution would be an advantage. Knowledge of tikanga Māori and the ability to kōrero Te Reo Māori is desirable.
